Two Shot Dead

Please pray for the families of two young deputy sheriff officers that were gunned down yesterday afternoon in Seminole County Oklahoma. It is the county just north of our Pontotoc county.

These two young men were serving an arrest warrant, which they do every day of the week. Something went terribly wrong and one died at the scene and the other died later in the hospital.
As most of you know, my son Chris is law enforcement and his job includes just the same thing. Serving warrants, is one of his duties. I pray over him all the time and the guys that he works with. I pray that blood of Christ over their lives and the angels of God to hover over them and not so much as a hair on their heads will be harmed.

Chris was at the scene till early this morning along with countless other officers from surrounding counties until the shooter was captured and in jail.

It is hard to understand these things, I cannot imagine the pain of the young wives and mothers and fathers this morning of these two young men. It only causes me to pray harder and more fervent for those in our city and town that keep the peace.

James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Pray for the safety of all law enforcement officers in your city and state. They are underpaid for what they do and they risk their lives every day.

Pray for peace for these two families. They suffer greatly today. As the body of Christ, we are called to prayer.

My heart is so sad this morning.

BLESSED are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9

  2. It is so dangerous these days! As you know, we are all in law enforcement and worry all of the time for the safety of our loved ones. Denise, I know your heart and concerns. My brother has lost two of his co-workers in the last six years - both killed in the line of duty. I will pray for Chris as well as the families of the two officers who passed.

    Thank you for sharing,

God Bless you and your family,
    becky

  5. I will never understand why these things happen as well:-( My heart goes out to the families of these two men. Last week, in the mall that mom and I go to all the time, there was a stabbing...a security guard at Sears saw a man trying to steal some stuff and went to comfront him...only to be stabbed repeatedly. Right now he's in hospital in grave condition. What kind of world are we living in:-( I can well imagine how worried you are of your son Chris, being in that kind of job. My prayers are with him. xoxo

  7. Oh, so sad. I sometimes wonder how much longer God will allow the wickedness in this world to go on before He calls us home...but... His Word says that He is a God of love and longsuffering that none should perish but that all should come to repentance...He loves even the wicked ones....my heart goes out to those families who have suffered loss.
