Two Shot Dead

Please pray for the families of two young deputy sheriff officers that were gunned down yesterday afternoon in Seminole County Oklahoma. It is the county just north of our Pontotoc county.

These two young men were serving an arrest warrant, which they do every day of the week. Something went terribly wrong and one died at the scene and the other died later in the hospital.
As most of you know, my son Chris is law enforcement and his job includes just the same thing. Serving warrants, is one of his duties. I pray over him all the time and the guys that he works with. I pray that blood of Christ over their lives and the angels of God to hover over them and not so much as a hair on their heads will be harmed.

Chris was at the scene till early this morning along with countless other officers from surrounding counties until the shooter was captured and in jail.

It is hard to understand these things, I cannot imagine the pain of the young wives and mothers and fathers this morning of these two young men. It only causes me to pray harder and more fervent for those in our city and town that keep the peace.

James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Pray for the safety of all law enforcement officers in your city and state. They are underpaid for what they do and they risk their lives every day.

Pray for peace for these two families. They suffer greatly today. As the body of Christ, we are called to prayer.

My heart is so sad this morning.

BLESSED are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9

  1. I saw mention of this in the national news. So very sad. I will consider the families today in prayer.
It is a very hard thing.
I hope that your comforted in Chris's presence. We , non of us , have a guarantee to tomorrow. We have this day to make the most out of. Hug him today.
I embrace you my dear friend. Lift up your beautiful face and let His love warm your face.

  2. It is so dangerous these days! As you know, we are all in law enforcement and worry all of the time for the safety of our loved ones. Denise, I know your heart and concerns. My brother has lost two of his co-workers in the last six years - both killed in the line of duty. I will pray for Chris as well as the families of the two officers who passed.

    Thank you for sharing,

God Bless you and your family,

  3. I am praying for these families. My oldest son is a marine. I understand the uncertainty. Our kids are risking their lives trying to make our world safe.
    Blessings, andrea

  4. So sad!!!! I will be praying for the families of these brave men. How thankful I am every day for the people who put their lives on the line to keep me safe!

  5. I will never understand why these things happen as well:-( My heart goes out to the families of these two men. Last week, in the mall that mom and I go to all the time, there was a stabbing...a security guard at Sears saw a man trying to steal some stuff and went to comfront him...only to be stabbed repeatedly. Right now he's in hospital in grave condition. What kind of world are we living in:-( I can well imagine how worried you are of your son Chris, being in that kind of job. My prayers are with him. xoxo

  6. I will add these families to my pray list. What a sad time.

    Love and hugs,

  7. Oh, so sad. I sometimes wonder how much longer God will allow the wickedness in this world to go on before He calls us home...but... His Word says that He is a God of love and longsuffering that none should perish but that all should come to repentance...He loves even the wicked heart goes out to those families who have suffered loss.

  8. How sad!! It's never easy to understand why these things happen....and such suffering the families now go through...

Praying safety for your son and his comrades...

  9. This is sad and words don't come so easy at times like these. I can't imagine what it must be like for you with your own son being in law enforcement.

  10. How heartbreaking...praying for those families...and for the continued protection of your son....

  11. How very sad...I'm praying for their families.

  12. What a dark world we live in. How painful for these families.
Thank you for praying for our service is something that I do forget to do.

  13. I heard this story on the news. I can't imagine what these families are going through right now.
I am so thankful for our police officers and for the job they do every day. Please tell your son I appreciate him.
I will keep these families and their friends in my prayers as I have been doing.
They sounded like wonderful young men.

  14. Oh My.... How very sad. Prayers going your way for their families and your son. Hugs Grams
