On To Christmas

Moses loves the Christmas Tree.. Sometimes he get lost up in there and I have to follow the screeches to find him...........

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now on to the task of preparing for Christmas. I am thinking I will do the same thing as I did last year and have Christmas after Christmas day so that other extended family can be here. I would love for Mom to be able to celebrate Christmas again this year with her brother. I will need to be making those plans pretty soon...

BUT.......wanted to share just a couple of Thanksgiving pictures............. did not take many this year but I will take a LOT at Christmas..

Mom and Dad......... Dad was not feeling very well at all on Thanksgiving but he perked up a bit during the chit chat........ He was much better the next day.

This is brother Paul (he would have a fit if he knew I was showing his bald spot) Chris to his right and Alpha across the table. I think that they were solving the troubles of the world... Hope they figure it out....... (Nice view of the tree)

Moses has found a warm spot in the palm of Chris' his hand...... That bird is spoiled rotten......... I think that the troubles of the world have them a bit perplexed, what you say?

Uncle Ed surprised us again this year with his visit. He is the younger brother to Mom. He is 87 and doing really well. He had us in stitches with his stories..... I love it that they get to spend time together over the holidays. He is one of the family members that I want to have over for Christmas.......
He goes to his daughters on Christmas day so I will most likely arrange the days to accommodate him and her ( My cousin Tisha) They came over last year and we had a wonderful time and it was so wonderful to see Mom and Ed together.

There I got a smile out of Dad......... Mom was not on top of her game on Thanksgiving. She has some good days and some not so good, but she had a good time and ate LOTS of food. She has a wonderful appetite. (Now I know where I get it)

That is my sweet hubby and the view is from the living room into the kitchen. He is just my best friend and makes me smile just to look at him..................

This is my sweet DH finishing up the dishes and making coffee....... I have to give credit to my brother PE....... He actually did most of the dishes and Dennis is just putting the last of them up. They are so good to clean the kitchen after our Thanksgiving. That gives me and Alpha time to chat.

Well, that is all the pictures for today . Hope your Thanksgiving was a great as mine. I am blessed that I have Mom and Dad with us again this year, and that Mom and Ed got to spend another holiday together.

Work in Progress and November Rose

I could not help myself so I worked outside today. What a beautiful day. I wanted to at least get the bows on my window wreaths and the lights around the large wreath. So I decided to take pictures of my work in progress and I will take more when I am finished.
I decided to go with white and blue this year. I change colors every other year. This is the first for the blue and white.
This is the large wreath and it will hang in the middle of the brick over by the picture window. It will have white pine cones and blue Christmas balls and it has tiny little blue and white snow flake lights. I put a very LARGE bow on it so it will stand out when I get the rest of the stuff on there.
There are 5 of the smaller window wreaths and they will also have blue balls and white pine cones. No lights. Too much work to put lights on them besides I put a candle in each window below the wreath. The candles this year will be blue......... go figure!

It is hard to tell by these pictures but the white ribbon is translucent plastic with tiny holes. It shines really nice when light hits it. With the icicles on the eves they will sparkle real nice at night.

On the white lattice board out by the mail box I just wired some old Christmas tree branches with the white ribbon laced through it. It will also have pine cones and maybe blue balls, I have not decided yet.

So there is my work in progress and I hope to have it all finished by the weekend and we will wait till after dark and take pictures!

NOW..................

I could not resist cutting this rose. It is one of three left on my climbing Don Juan and it is just perfect. I wish you could see it up close......... It is perfect!

So I have named it my November Rose...........

Actually, we are all a work in progress but you knew that........ and in HIS eyes we too are perfect.

Have a blessed Thursday.....

I QUIT !!

AGAIN!!!!!

I once again slipped back into my old habits with my shop and have found myself too busy with other jobs and I have not accomplished anything that I wanted this past year. Due to the economy I feel "obligated" to help with the finances but my sweet DH keeps telling me to STOP.
The past few weeks the Lord has been re-arranging my life and my time. I am terrible with my time and I have finally given it over to the Lord to fix. So the past few weeks I have been allowing HIM to give me direction, so I have not been on the blog much.

As for my shop, I have finally quit. I tried to do that last year but slipped back into trying to make a little money, but my DH keeps saying that if I will stop and do my primitives that I might be surprised that I will make more money with that than I do in my shop. So I am going to listen to him and close my business AGAIN.

This time I am sending out emails to my customers letting them know that I have disks available to them with their designs and a phone number of the new shop in town. I have finally reached a point that if I do not pursue my dreams and goals for my life now then I will never accomplish them.

I am a work- a- holic and have always been and it is hard for me to shift gears, but the Lord has given me specific instructions as to how to accomplish some things this new year.

I am blessed to be able to care for my aging parents and each day as I walk the short distance from my house to theirs I pray that the Lord continue to give me good health in order to care for them. I see the day and it is approaching far too that they will no longer be here with me and even with the stress of 24/7 care for them I grieve.

It is funny how life will flip flop on you and the very things that I ran from many years ago as a young woman I now find myself running head long into.......... I think that might just be God don't you?

Need to get up and around now and continue the chores that the Lord has put before me as I rearrange my time. I am cleaning out and throwing away. Seems HE has a goal in mind for me and I am headed that way. I will listen for HIS instruction and HIS word will direct my path.

Have peaceful day!

Be A Wise Man

Twas the month before Christmas

When all through our land

Not a Christian was praying

Nor taking a stand.

See the PC Police had taken away

The reason for Christmas -no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing,

Abut the Shepherds and Wise Men and Angles and things."

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say

December 25th is just a "Holiday."

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!"

CD's from Madonna, an X BOX , an I-pod

Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down.

At Lowe's the word Christmas- was no where to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty.

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen,

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter.

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith,

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded,

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate"Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say.

Shout Merry Christmas

NOT Happy Holiday!
