NO GO

Well bummer!

Me and my sweet DH are not going to be able to go to Tulsa for a little R&R! Older brother PE and his wife have been on vacation and at one point said he would be home Thursday, (yesterday). He called yesterday afternoon from Colorado to let us know it would be Sunday before they got home. Ok, I understand the enjoyment of being away and I do not blame them for staying a bit longer. Also my son Chris is going to be out of town so we cannot all be gone from Mom and Dad. We will try again in a few weeks if his job allows it. He goes back to work Monday and the next 6 weeks is the busiest time of his year. They have much to do before school starts in August.

Well, we have a week planned in October and maybe can sneak in a weekend before then.
BUT in the mean time, I am headed out to shop for two BIG pots to put out front on each end of my bench. So there, I am going to go and do SOMETHING today, hahhahah. I will need to find plants that love love love the HOT weather as my front bench faces due west with NO shade.
I will ask the experts from where I buy the pots. I will take pictures !

Have yourself a wonderful Friday and if your weather has cooled down like ours (it is 75 this morning), then enjoy!

  6. I know how disappointing it is when plans have to be postponed or cancelled....but we must trust that God has a purpose and there is a reason for everything....and when we accept it (sometimes that is the hard part for me)....He soothes our discouragement and gives us something else to do.....looking forward to seeing your flowers.

    Hugs to you!

  9. No! Oh sweetie that is so uncool of them to not consider your daily and take that time away from the two of you. I want to shake them by the ears!
    That said ....hum....
    what a bout a staycation?
A romantic dinner in the house after the old folks retire.
Get a silly party table cloth and set up a coconut tree of paper and put some music of the islands on from the internet and well eat pineapple and talk
do something for your heart do not just give up. I know....it is much easier to do. come on try some creative time. Your hearts need to matter here.

  10. It's cool here in the Midwest too. Feels more like October than July.

Too bad about your getaway but God knows the perfect time for you to have a holiday. =)

Have a beautiful weekend and I hope you find the pots you need. Blessings.. Polly (countingyourblessings & frenchcupboard)

  15. Two words....THAT sucks.

Well, at least you have some time off scheduled in the Fall. Which is a great time of year. And I do know that things work out for a reason.

Hope your weekend is treating you well.
