Jury Duty

I have been called to Jury duty this coming Monday.  I have always wanted to sit on a jury, but now that I have the chance..... a little scary.  I have to report next Monday at 8:30.  Now for most of you that would not be a problem, BUT I am not a morning person any more.  I get up and lolly-gag and drink coffee and lolly-gag and get dressed and lolly-gag and then get something done. I guess you could call me a lolly-gagger....

BUT --------I cannot lolly-gag next Monday. This is one morning I cannot be late...........

  1. I have all the answers IF you'd like to get out. :) On Becker all he did was say that he "read" books - didn't matter which book - and they excused him - that's hyperbole though. :) God bless and thanks for dropping by.

  4. Jury duty is very interesting....but the waiting around is a drag...take some reading material, helps to pass the time. I'm a lolly~gagger too...hugs, Linda

  5. I agree, it's the waiting that is so hard. I remember waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. . . and then got sent home anyways because they made deals and didn't go to trial. I would have rather been on the jury with a real trial. A book is a good idea. Hope they have comfortable chairs!!!!!

  7. I served on a jury way back when I was a young married woman..it was interesting and I hope I want be called again.
I'm not a morning person either...when I have to be somewhere early...I just set my clock for 2 hours before I have to leave so I can still take my time..it is the only thing that works for me.
I love you, girl, thanks for praying...I'll send you an update when I have one...we're sort of stalled right now.

  9. I was called for jury duty when Shawn was just a baby and I really didn't want to be there but figures I would get picked to be a juror for the trial! lol It was quite an interesting trial...two guys who got charged for hiring a hooker for a birthday party, can you believe it? lol On the second day the judge told us that the two sides had agreed on a settlement and we would no longer be needed. Pffttt, all that for nothing! I've been called again but it was in the days when I was agrophobic and could hardly get out of the house so the doctor had given me a note to send to the court to be excused. Good luck and as the others have said, bring a good book:-) xoxo

  10. My husband just got a summons also. He likes doing it, but never seems to get on a case. He ends up sitting around. When I first got out of high school, I worked for the jury commission for our state. It was a clerical job where I sent out questionnaires for potential jurors. I wasn't crazy about it.;) Anyway, I've never served.

Try it; you may like it.

  11. My last experience was that when they heard that I was a Christian they dismissed me.

  12. I've only been called once and I was on my way to being picked when I broke down in tears because the case was too much like something we were going through at the time - they didn't want me. I didn't do it on purpose! Really!
