I have a new hobby!   Kayaks...........

My brother Paul got started and then came and took us out to try his.

He loves to go out on his own and just blaze a trail........
(what is it called when you blaze a trail in the water?)

His is lime green... You can see him for a mile. Then he wears that orange shirt,
and don't forget that hat!

They had to pose for me........  they are a pair.......

We loved them! Sooooooooooo it was off to Dallas Bass Pro for two of our own. I am sorry that I did not take any pictures that day... I was sick and fighting asthma, so I forgot to even take it our of my purse.

It is easy to do and cost nothing to take them out.  Leaving Mom and Dad is very difficult because of the level of care now but there is a beautiful lake only 45 minutes from here. The  lake is pretty large and full of coves and nooks and crannies!

It is something we can do and only be gone a few hours.  Mom and Dad can be out here for a while alone.  So Sunday with fishing poles in hand and small tub of worms we headed out. PE and Alpha met us down there and Chris came down with his boat.  It is perfect for us right now........... Good exercise and good fun with family.

Chris and his main squeeze Tara taking our Kayaks for a test run....  Look, my oars match my Kayak...... hahahah   I am going to tie dye a hat to match!   How funny.......

Have you ever been on a Kayak?

  1. Woo Hoo, you go girl. Looks like fun, you need some fun, relaxing moments. My nephew and his wife recently bought kayaks, they love them. I am praying for you, and your parents. I love you.

  2. Denise, looks like you had a great time. I'm not much for water, but when my children come down,we tour old homes and try to go to thrift stores. My daughter is looking forward to that for her store, plus she is finally shipping all of her things I have stored at my house for the past 30 years--more storage space for me now. We will all be together as a family in October--first time in 3 years. So we are having Christmas in October and going to have a family photo taken with the gang. Have a great weekend. I will know on the 22nd when my surgery will be done-but it's only one part of my spine for now. I am hoping to get all 3 done before the year is over. Love and hugs, Pat

  3. I'm basically phobic of anything water related - I've been to Hawaii twice now and went into the ocean once - up to my knees. I do go out in the rafts while my hubby snorkels, but that's it for me. But I am so glad you've found something you enjoy so much!

  4. Looks like fun! So glad you are having a good time with this....

  5. Can you flip back over if you capsize - that's the ONLY thing that hinders me from going out. :)
Looks like GREAT fun though. :)Glad you had such a wonnerful time.

  6. I have never been on a kayak and more than likely never will!! I mean after all, they don't call me "Miss Grace" for nothing!!! :o)

  7. I've thought about Kayaking but then I thought about capsizing and that was the end of that. :)

  8. I'm so proud of you...finding something you enjoy that gives you a break and some fun...I think I would be afraid to try that, though. I go canoeing with Honey Bear and that is a little scary. I can't swim so I'm a little uneasy about it but I am able to have fun, too.

  9. So glad that you area able to get some fun in your life. This you need. Hope mom and Dad are doing fine. God bless.

  10. I've never been in a kayak but my youngest son Corey owns one and has been kayaking for many years now. He first tried it when he was 17 years old and loved it so much, he went out and bought himself one and joined the kayak club here in town. When he moved away from home to work he brought his kayak with him and goes for rides whenever he has the chance:-) Good for you and your hubby for getting yourselves one, as you say good exercise and a great way to relax and just have fun!! I love being on the water so I really should try it one of these days:-) Please know that my prayers remain with your parents. xoxo

  11. Now is that you in the white hat, or was that someone else; I can't tell.... But great photos and looks like great FAMILY FUN!!!

  14. Now I don't know about the kayak...but the tub of worms and poles sound right up my ally!
Glad ya'll had a great is so important for you to get out and relax and just have some fun.
And yes, even on the water a girl needs to match. :)
